Prof. Dr. Hatem Masri
Current Position: Professor of Business Analytics and President, Applied Science University (ASU), Kingdom of Bahrain
Brief Biography: Dr. Hatem Masri is a distinguished Professor of Business Analytics and currently serves as the President of the Applied Science University (ASU) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. With an illustrious career in higher education leadership and management sciences, he previously served as the Dean of the College of Business Administration and Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the University of Bahrain, as well as the Head of the Management Department at the University of Nizwa, Oman.
As a leading global scholar in operational research and decision sciences, Dr. Masri’s extensive research interests span business analytics, supply chain management, financial engineering, and Islamic finance. He is a highly prolific author who has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious international journals and authored 9 authoritative books, including a widely recognized textbook on Islamic business administration.
Dr. Masri earned both his Ph.D. in Management Sciences and his Master’s degree in Operations Research from the University of Tunis, Tunisia. Beyond his academic and administrative roles, he is deeply engaged in international professional networks; he is the founder and chair of the INFORMS Bahrain International Group, the past president of the African Federation of Operational Research Societies (AFROS), and an active volunteer and mentor with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). His profound dedication to institutional quality assurance and data-driven educational development makes him a highly respected leader in the global academic community.
